Photo 101 Day 13- Moment

A couple of ‘moments’ from the national firework championships in Plymouth. These photos were taken from the pontoon of a marina, hence the boat mast in both shots.

British Firework Championships 2013

Since 1997, every year the British Firework Championships are held in Plymouth. They are held on the Plymouth Hoe, a public stretch of land on the coast of the city, where the fabulous displays can be watched from all around.

This August, I had the luck of staying on boat in Plymouth marina for duration of the competition, so was able to observe the fireworks from the comfort of the cabin, with a cup of tea in hand. However the downside to this was that I wasn’t best positioned for photographs, which is why a lot my photos have boat masts in them, and not being on dry land (instead on a shaky pontoon) added to the challenge. However, tripod handy, I had a wonderful time capturing some stills of the beautiful displays.
